Greenport Skate Park Photo Contest

Submission requirements:

​

1. The National Go Skate Day Photography Contest consists of two categories:

   • Best Portrait

   • Best Action Photo

2. Photographers may submit one (1) photo per category for the public online vote.

3. Best Portrait entries must feature a portrait or lifestyle-style image of the athlete.

   • The athlete may be holding or posing with their skateboard, BMX bike, scooter, inline skates, or other equipment.

   • The athlete may not be actively riding or performing a trick in this category.

   • Action shots submitted to the Portrait category may be disqualified or moved at the discretion of contest administrators.

4. Best Action Photo entries must capture the athlete actively participating in their sport.

   • This category is reserved for action photography only.

5. Photographers will have two (2) weeks following National Go Skate Day to edit and submit their entries.

6. Standard photo editing adjustments are permitted, including:

   • Color correction

   • Exposure adjustments

   • Cropping

   • Contrast and sharpening

   • Traditional digital darkroom techniques

Terms & Conditions:

1. Eligibility
Open to all photographers. Entrants under 18 must have parental or guardian consent. Photos must be taken during the contest window (Saturday, June 21st, between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM EST).

2. Submission
All photos must be submitted by Sunday, July 6th via Dropbox. Please use the email: Greenportskatepark@gmail.com to share your link. Each entry must retain original metadata (EXIF) including date, time, and device data. Use of AI-generated or AI-enhanced imagery is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification.

3. Ownership & Authenticity
You must be the sole creator and copyright holder of the submitted photo. By entering, you affirm the photo is your original work and does not infringe upon any third-party rights.

4. Usage Rights

By entering the Contest, you grant Greenport Skate Park Inc. a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual, royalty-free license to:
- Display, publish, or reproduce your photo for promotional, marketing, and fundraising purposes (e.g., website, social media, print materials).
- Credit will be given to each the photographer.
- All other rights remain with the photographer.

5. Judging & Prizes
Photos will be selected based on creativity, composition, originality, and relevance to skate park culture and community. We welcome your input for how you would like to be represented.

Prizes:

1st Place Best Portrait - $500

1st Place Best Action Shot - $500

​

Runner Up Best Portrait - $250

Runner Up Best Action Photo - $250

We will host a public vote via an online app. Details will follow. Once the voting is complete and winners announced, we will make arrangements to mail you your prize check.

6. Liability & Disqualification
Greenport Skate Park Inc. reserves the right to disqualify any submission that violates these terms or is deemed inappropriate.
Submission of altered metadata, AI use, or plagiarism will result in disqualification.

7. Agreement
By submitting an entry, you agree to abide by these Terms & Conditions in full. You acknowledge that Greenport Skate Park Inc. may use your submitted photo as described above without additional compensation beyond any prize awarded.

8. Indemnification
By participating in this Contest, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Greenport Skate Park Inc., its directors, volunteers, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, expenses, or costs.
